Our Story
Due to the lack of diversity at the university in most of our classes in STEM, we decided to come together and create a safe space for Spanish-speaking students in STEM majors.
We now work together to teach STEM education in order to inspire the future Spanish-speaking generation of our communities — to dream big and realize that they are capable of also being STEM professionals in the future.
Working to reclaim and reimagine STEM through the lens of language, identity, and justice, ensuring that all communities feel seen, heard, and included in the scientific narrative.
* We are not exclusively working with POC youth. We work with all youth because we want all youth to be inspired — but our focus is the youth in Spanish-speaking communities.
Mission & Vision
As bilingual professionals and students, we come together to bring awareness to the way STEM is being taught in our communities. The lack of representation in STEM has created an absence of opportunities, especially for those with diverse perspectives and knowledge in other languages.
We hope to represent bilingual students within the scientific fields in higher education, as we collaborate with the future generations in our community.
CPT is deeply committed to promoting language diversity, recognizing that language is not a barrier but a powerful tool for inclusion, expression, and identity.
Explore Culture and How It Can Be Integrated Within The Scientific Field
STEM is in every aspect of life — it should not be taught solely through a western lens. By teaching our bilingual students in their primary language, it creates a welcoming and approachable environment for future generations to RISE UP!

Getting to connect with my fellow Hispanic colleagues, working on translation and staying close to my native language kept me focused, determined, and disciplined during the online era. The good habits I developed have led me far in my professional career — it's been a bright highlight of my resumé and my life.
