WHAT WE DO

Rooted in Community,
Growing Through Science

Bilingual STEM Programs

We develop and lead bilingual STEM workshops and hands-on activities for students and community — sparking curiosity, honoring cultural knowledge, and making science approachable for young learners and their families.

Community & Culture

We represent bilingual STEM professionals in higher education and scientific fields, collaborating with future generations in our community to uplift bilingualism and integrate culture within STEM programs.

Future Educators in Training

CPT is a safe, welcoming space for student members to build community, explore leadership, and grow professionally through mentorship, skill-building, and shared cultural experience.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Our Work In Action

A look at some of the programs and experiences we've created for our community!

FEATURED PROGRAM

Las Calabasa Embrujadas

In 2023 we held an event for the community in collaboration with community members, such as local entrepreneurs. We had fun seeing everyone participate in the costume contest, hunted house, painting pumpkins, and being part of the Dia de Los Muertos ofrenda. Thank you to our partners and everyone who came to support the event.

COMMUNITY INIATIVE

Backpacking in the Redwoods Adventure

In collaboration with Redwood National and State Parks  rangers (RNSP), participants explored old-growth redwood forests alongside park rangers and interpreters.  Participants set up camp at DeMartin Backcountry Site, learned how to safely backpack, and enjoyed the beauty of the redwoods.

"

Through student-led events and practice, I learned to communicate scientific ideas in Spanish and met peers with the same interests. CPT motivated me to keep practicing intentionally in graduate school and to prioritize bilingual science communication even now in my career. Because of that foundation, I've had opportunities to do interviews tied to Televisa and National Geographic en Español, sharing my work with broader Spanish-speaking audiences.
